Faculty Positions in Pharmaceutics, Medicinal Chemistry, and
Pharmacology
The Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS),
a private institution with 125-year tradition located in Albany, NY, is
seeking applications for faculty positions in the Department of
Pharmaceutical Sciences at its new satellite campus near Burlington, VT,
which will enroll its first Doctor of Pharmacy class in fall 2009.
Three 9.5 month, tenure-track faculty positions are available in the
areas of pharmaceutics, medicinal chemistry, and pharmacology. Academic
rank is open and will be commensurate with experience. Responsibilities
will include teaching in pharmaceutics and in courses that integrate
pharmacology, medicinal chemistry and pharmacotherapy for the Pharm.D.
program, establishing an individual or collaborative extramurally-funded
research program, and participation in the service missions of the
college.
Qualified applicants should have a Ph.D. in the respective area or a
related discipline, postdoctoral experience, a strong commitment to
teaching excellence, graduate education, and continuing scholarship, and
excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Preference will be given to candidates who have a pharmacy background,
teaching experience, and a record of applying innovative teaching
technologies, but these experiences are not required.
The salary is nationally competitive by AACP standards. A startup
