- The
2005 Corwin Hansch Award of the QSAR and
Modelling Society has been presented to Prof.
Dr. Matthias Rarey of the University
of
Hamburg Center for Bioinformatics. This award recognizes the work of a young investigator in QSAR and
modeling with
the expectation that they will continue to advance the field for many years to come.

- Since 1993,
Prof. Rarey has developed the molecular docking software package FlexX which belongs to the most widely used codes for virtual screening.
He has been centrally involved in several other well-known innovative software tools for structure-based as well as ligand-based molecular design.
